Outlive
Most business software fails at handover, not at launch. We build systems the next person can read: documented, tested, and yours to take anywhere.
Two engineers. Four projects at a time. Working from Ringwood since 2019.
The standard we hold ourselves to
If we disappeared tomorrow, your software would carry on.
That sentence is the whole test. A system passes it when someone who has never met us can clone the repository, run the test suite on a clean machine, read why a decision was made, and change it without ringing us first.
Roughly two thirds of the work that reaches us is a rescue: a build that ran fine until the developer moved on, and nobody wrote anything down. We started in that position ourselves, maintaining stock and dispatch systems somebody else had left behind, so the fix is not a mystery to us. It is documentation, tests, and boring, readable code.
We don't build brochure sites, we don't sell SEO retainers, and we won't quote a fixed price for a system we haven't scoped. Three of the four we turned down last year were sent to someone better suited.
Services and indicative fees
How the work usually arrives
Tick anything that sounds like your situation and it will be waiting in the enquiry form at the bottom of the page.
Two weeks, fixed fee. You leave with a written specification, a build estimate and the right to take both to another developer.
Client portals, booking systems, quoting tools. Built in Laravel or Node, hosted wherever you want them, handed over with the deployment scripts.
The spreadsheet six people edit at once, rebuilt as something that records who changed what, and when.
Getting Xero, a Shopify storefront, a warehouse scanner and a 2009 Access database to agree with one another, then keeping them that way.
We read what you already own and report plainly: what is safe, what is fragile, what it would cost to put right. Ten working days.
Patching, monitored backups and a named engineer who answers. We reply within one working day, and we say so in the contract.
Fees are indicative and confirmed in writing after the scoping call. Our day rate is £595 outside fixed-fee work.
Who you would be working with
Eleven years inside other people's systems
The background
Codeverity opened in 2019, after eleven years keeping stock and dispatch software running for a marine parts distributor in Poole. Most of that decade was spent reading code somebody else had already written.
The correction
For two years we took whatever came in. A 2021 rebuild shipped on time with almost no documentation, and when the client hired their own developer it cost us six unpaid weekends to explain it. We changed how we finish work after that.
The method
Every engagement ends the same way: a written handover, a test suite that runs on a clean machine, and an hour on a call with whoever inherits it. Two engineers, no subcontractors, four active projects.
Codeverity is the software practice run by Salsadev Ltd, registered in England & Wales, Company No. 17310750, at 7 Warren Close, Ringwood, BH24 2AJ. We work with clients across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, and remotely across the UK.
The next step
Bring us the thing that keeps breaking
A scoping call runs about 45 minutes and costs nothing. If we are the wrong fit we will tell you on the call, and usually name someone who is a better one.
