This website is operated by Salsadev Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17310750), registered office 7 Warren Close, Ringwood, BH24 2AJ. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Salsadev Ltd, which is the data controller for the personal data described below.
For anything to do with your personal data, write to [email protected] or call 07988 035 150.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Salsadev Ltd is a software development company based in Ringwood, Hampshire. We are the data controller for personal data submitted through this website. You can contact us by email at [email protected], by phone on 07988 035 150, or by post at 7 Warren Close, Ringwood, BH24 2AJ.
2. What personal data we collect
We keep the amount of data we collect deliberately small. Depending on how you use this website, we may hold:
- Enquiry data — the name, email address, selected services and message you type into the enquiry form on this website.
- Correspondence — emails, call notes and any documents you send us while we discuss or carry out a project.
- Technical data — the IP address and browser information recorded in our hosting provider's server logs when a page is served.
- Cookie data — a single browser storage entry recording your cookie choice. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
We do not run advertising pixels, and we do not collect special category data (such as health or ethnicity) through this website.
3. Why we process it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis (Article 6 UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reply to an enquiry and prepare a quote or scoping proposal | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Deliver a project we have been engaged for, including support and maintenance | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Keep server logs to run the site securely and diagnose faults | Legitimate interests — keeping our systems available and secure (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Keep invoices and accounting records | Legal obligation under UK tax law (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Any future website analytics | Your consent, given through the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects — 24 months from your last message, then deleted.
- Client project records — for the life of the engagement and 6 years afterwards, so that we can answer questions about work we delivered.
- Invoices and accounting records — 6 years from the end of the relevant accounting period, as UK tax law requires.
- Server logs — retained by our hosting provider for up to 30 days.
- Your cookie choice — stored in your own browser for 12 months, or until you clear it.
5. Who else sees your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf under written terms:
- Our hosting provider — serves this website and holds the server logs described above.
- Our email provider — carries and stores the messages we exchange with you.
- Our accountant — sees invoice records where an engagement leads to billing.
We will disclose personal data to a third party outside this list only where the law requires it, or where you have asked us to.
6. Transfers outside the UK
Our hosting and email are provided from within the UK or the European Economic Area. This website loads its body typeface from Fontshare and its animation library from Cloudflare's CDN; making those requests means your IP address is visible to those providers, which may involve a transfer outside the UK. Where a transfer takes place, it is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses. We do not otherwise transfer personal data outside the UK.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
- ask us to delete data we no longer need to hold (erasure);
- ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved (restriction);
- receive the data you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format (portability);
- object to processing we carry out under legitimate interests.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent — currently only for optional cookies — you can withdraw it at any time by clearing this site's stored data in your browser, which brings the cookie banner back so you can choose again. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything processed before you withdrew it.
How to exercise a right
Email [email protected] and tell us which right you want to use. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, as UK GDPR requires. We may ask you for something that confirms your identity before we release personal data.
8. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection: www.ico.org.uk, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, telephone 0303 123 1113.
9. Cookies
This website sets no non-essential storage until you accept it. The full inventory, and how to change your mind, is in the Cookie Policy.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, and we hold your contact details, we will tell you directly.
